Holiday Dinner Rush

During the holiday season, it can really get hectic and chaotic when it comes to planning, shopping and cooking for your family!

I had two jobs for the thanksgiving holiday for two special families, which both are my repeated clients, and they both wanted to do something special for their families, which is a beautiful idea!

I would say during the holidays, it is not always easy to find what you need, when you need it and at the time that you need it! Well, at least for me, I know how to substitute and negotiate if necessary, and I have the stamina to shop and the patience to stand in a long line because my goal is to always keep my word on what I’m going to do for my clients and give them the best of my ability!

Here are some highlights that I would like to share.

1) Trying to find the “RIGHT” turkey wings for one of my clients! Listen, you can’t just buy any turkey wings. Some substitute turkey wings for turkey drum legs, and I’m sorry but it’s just not the same! Haha! I was destined to find them turkey wings, so I went to several stores. Unfortunately, the stores only had turkey drum legs! These drum legs was too big to even put on someone’s plate, and they looked prehistoric like they came from a giant bird. This was something Fred Flintstone and his family would eat, not an average person in todays world! You would need two plates to eat them drum legs!

So, I let my client know about the turkey wings and suggested lamb chops, which turned out to be a great idea for my client because it was something different they never had, and it gave them a more elegant feeling instead of traditional, and yes, they demonlished them lamb chops!

2) The shelves were about empty for the materials that I needed! It was like eating all the flavored chips and leaving behind those boring corn chips that no one eats! The only thing that was left was some flimsy aluminum pans that would fold over if you was to place a sandwich on top, but gladly, I managed to find what I needed in a different store. Thank goodness for other stores out there!

3) Traffic jams. This was a big one considering the fact that I had to go home to use the restroom, and then go back out to get the remaining items! Holiday traffic looks like LA traffic after work, and I thought that I would never make it home to go to the restroom. Well, good thing I knew my way around the city because I was able to take a shortcut home, and to keep myself occupied from thinking about the restroom, I called my wife to keep me entertained, but as soon as I got close to the house, that’s when it hit me harder because I knew I was closed to the finish line! I’m sure most of you probably went through this at least once in your life! Haha!

4) Despite all the obsticles I had, which is actually just something to look back at and laugh about, my number one highlight is just seeing both families happy and accomplishing my job because I know that they can spend real quality time with each other and enjoy the food in the comfort of their own home.

Much love to both families and to my readers! Please subscribe for more blogs and enjoy a good laugh and education! Your story might be up here next so stay tuned!! :)
